In brief, I am a New Jersey girl (think Tom Waits, not Jersey Shore), now living in Northern California. After grad school in Pittsburgh and six winters in Chicago, I spent many years in Los Angeles, doing improv, writing personal essays (and reading them in live shows), and hoping for a career as an actress.

 

I left LA in 2020 for the Bay Area, and with some emotional and physical distance, not to mention a global pandemic, was able to expand on those essays until they were a whole book. Some of those pieces are available here, and they are included in my debut publication, a memoir published in November 2024.

The book began as a plan to compile my "get me out of here" LA-oriented essays, but has grown into something quite a bit more comprehensive -- because everything is connected, whether we like it or not.
